River Lab STEM Challenge is a program developed by Current to introduce students to water science and engineering. The River Lab curriculum focuses on 3 goals: increasing awareness of the Chicago River, reflection on personal connection to water and water usage, and introducing engineering concepts such as prototyping. We envision Chicago’s youth as more educated and engaged stewards of our water resources, with enlarged views of their potential career pathways in an array of water-related industries.
